I have been using my instructor’s dressage saddle but I am interested in purchasing my own. If you have any suggestions, I’d appreciate hearing from you.

One of the other riders at the barn has a Bates Isabell and seems to be very happy with it.  Here is what the saddle looks like:

I like the leather and the deep seat of the Bates Isabell. In addition, I am told that it can be adjusted to fit any horse. That’s a big plus! Wintec also sells an Isabell saddle, but it is made of synthetic leather. The shape of the Wintec is also a bit different from the Bates version.

I prefer genuine leather so I am considering looking for a used Bates Isabell. I’m open to suggestions, though. What do you think is the best dressage saddle?
